The first issue of Trident was published in January 1973 in A5 portrait format and continued so until issue number 72 in the autumn of 1997. The summer of 1990 saw publication of the 'Fiftieth Edition' of Trident with its cover in colour, a feature that became permanent in the summer of 1993 with issue number 59.
Casting tradition to one side, the cover of issue number 68, a personal favourite with the webmaster, surely brightened the summer for most, if not all, of our male members!
The spring issue of 1998 heralded a complete revamping of Trident in an A4 portrait format and it continues as such today.
Since those early days of the first issue these magazines have contained many informative and well written articles on club activities, new models, member's cars, in fact almost everything about Maseratis.
Although many members won't admit to it, around the time of the magazine's issue, they are often seen waiting by their letter box!
Since those early days, Trident magazine has evolved through the sterling efforts of its past and present editors and for this special thanks must rightly go to Ken Painter, Michael Miles, Peter Rae, John Bennett and Bill Jackson. The 100th issue was the last Trident published under the editorship of Maserati Guru Andy Heywood. Andy has now handed the reins over to Geoff Lancaster who continues the tradition of maintaining the highest of standards!
Every successful club magazine doesn't solely rely on its articles and editorial comment but also on it's photographic content, and for this, special thanks for their contributions must go to Maserati SpA, Dave Smith, Henny Cate, Phil Ward and Peter Collins. My apologies to the many contributors whose names I may have omitted.
